Rocklin Family Law Firm

Overview

Our law practice at Miller & Associates brings our attorneys' business law and family law experience together on behalf of business owners and others with complex financial portfolios. We also represent a wide spectrum of individuals undergoing more "routine" divorces.

Adept at Working With Numbers, People and the Law

At Miller & Associates, we have a great deal of experience in complex business and real estate issues. We provide a comprehensive service for our clients to ensure that their assets are divided quickly and efficiently.

A Versatile Family Law Firm

We particularly enjoy the human element and the variety of our family law practice. We help people structure their lives legally and financially as they move through the process of divorce, custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, domestic violence and restraining orders.

As needed, we work with CPAs and other professionals to analyze business income when helping clients calculate child/spousal support. From integrating current laws with the numbers revealed in a business owner's tax returns, we work hard to stay on top of both the law and the facts in each client's circumstances.

Limited Scope Attorney Representation

Miller & Associates offers clients limited services. For example, if you cannot afford to hire an attorney to represent you on all issues of your divorce, you can hire an attorney to represent you for a child support modification hearing, or just to prepare and review documents for you, or to analyze property division issues, etc. In fee arrangement such as this, the client manages all other aspects of his/her case and is responsible for handling and resolving all other issues.

Paralegal Services

In an ongoing effort to help our client save money, Miller & Associates also offers paralegal services. If you cannot afford an attorney, or do not feel you need one, just contact Miller & Associates For a FREE 1/2 hour consultation with an attorney, and we will help you determine what level of services best fit your needs. If your matter is uncontested, which means you and your spouse have reached agreements on all issues, then utilizing our paralegal services may be the right thing for you.

I cannot recommend Bryanna and Melinda highly enough! From the moment I first contacted their office, I knew I was in good hands. Their attention to detail is second to none, ensuring that no stone was left unturned in my case. What truly set Bryanna apart, though, was her compassion. I felt they both understood the emotional toll that family law matters can take and were always there and with a supportive approach. I felt that Bryanna was always honest in her answers to my questions. Bryanna and Melinda never made me feel as if I was just another case in a stack on their desk. I knew I could count on her to really listen and provide a reliable and well thought out resolution to the matters I brought to her. When it came time to fight, Bryanna was a fierce advocate on mine and my child’s behalf. She fought hard for my child’s interests and did not back down and we achieved the best possible outcome. I worried that being in another state would present great challenges but communication was always clear and timely from Bryanna and Melinda. Bryanna made sure I understood every step of the process, breaking down complex legal jargon into terms I could easily grasp. Throughout the entire ordeal, Bryanna displayed a remarkable willingness to explain the process, ensuring I was never left in the dark about what was happening. Their professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for my situation made a world of difference. If you need a family law attorney who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and an unwavering fighter, look no further than Bryanna! Bryanna and Melinda are truly exceptional.

I would highly recommend working with Miller & Associates attorneys if you are ever in the need for a family law attorney. I specifically worked with Chad Miller, but the entire staff was top notch.  I was referred to Chad by two separate personal acquaintances after having a bad experience at another firm. It was a night and day difference after my first meeting with Chad and I switched attorneys immediately. Being a Registered nurse in the pandemic and going through a divorce, all at the same time, presented itself with some very stressful situations. I always felt like Chad and his team were respectful of my time and efficient in their communication.  They always kept me informed, were professional and quick to  respond if I had any questions or concerns.   Chad clearly has a passion for family law and Child custody matters. He has exceptional  knowledge of the law and can answer any question you might have.  He always listened to my concerns and gave truthful and realistic advice. I appreciated that he was always trying to move my case towards mediation to avoid court costs and prevent further stress. Chad knew that my main concern was over the custody of my two very young children and for their wellbeing.  I always felt like he fought for me and I was glad to have him represent me in court.   I feel their billing is fair and I appreciated their transparent billing system. Receiving weekly updates of the time that was being billed and the amount remaining in my trust was very helpful.   I am so thankful for the entire team for all of their assistance and support through this very difficult 2 year process.  I would absolutely hire Chad Miller again to represent me in any child custody matter that might come up in the future. Thank you again Chad and his amazing team for getting my divorce finalized!

I was in the process of trying to resolve my dissolution on my own, and came across a unique situation. I met with Chad and I am very glad I did so, as a good situation was actually a lot better than I thought. Every question I asked was answered with professionalism and acuteness to my situation. It seems I'm well on my way to continue as planned, but I will definitely look for their full services if needed. Thanks Chad!

4.5 out of 5 stars

Hi folks, My name is Marianna and I am also a mom of the special needs child who needs a lifetime care. When I first sat down with Mr. Mendonsa, as many of you who are reading this, I was at lost of not knowing how to do this while doing everything humanly possible to ensure my daughter was not affected by anything. I retained Mr. Mendonsa and he immediately stepped into my corner and my ugly divorced which I tried to do myself for 1 year was done and over with. Mr. Mendonsa is absolutely exceptional, knew my case inside and out( to this day, he remembers the name of my daughter) extremely well prepared, knowledgeable, communicates effectively and always timely, he has kept me appraised on all, educated me on all aspects of the family law including “Joint” custody of my daughter, and lastly, gave me what I was seeking when I ended the relationship with my former spouse which is peace to continue moving forward and upward and showing-up for my daughter as the best version of myself. I highly without any reservations recommend Mr. Mendonsa to be retained by someone is seeking an attorney who will be in your corner, give the voice to you and also, if you have kiddos. I wish you all the very best and by having Mr. Mendonsa in your corner it is soon to be your Reality! I do hope that I will not need to retain an attorney again, yet, if I do, I will only be retaining Mr. Mendonsa. Thank you, Mr. Mendonsa for all your dedication, knowledge, character and integrity. Sincerely, Marianna

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
