    Hired Law firm 2021-2022
I was a long-term, well-paying client, hired Daniel Hunt and his associates to represent me as a plaintiff in what is still ongoing litigation. Eventually I was faced with them having significant lapses in judgement, knowledge and care. After 18 months and $40,000 invested at this firm I found them to be such inadequate and untrustworthy stewards of my case that I had no choice but to endure the expense of obtaining new representation. Daniel Hunt, the lead attorney, was made aware of these issues well before I dismissed them and could not find it within himself to care on iota about how my case was being handled at his firm. When pressed for his help, he never once knew any details of my case so he supplemented that knowledge with information and details on other client's cases. Since I left the mess that is this firm, I have continued to bring new-found lapses in judgement to Daniel Hunt's attention. Those hose concerns are not met with a commitment to improve, but they are met with blame-shifting and citing details on other client's cases making abundantly clear he still has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. If they were this awful to me, they can be this awful to anyone. I do not recommend them.

Mr. Hunt is the best Trust and Estate Litigation Attorney in California. He is professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to his clients. He has compassion, willingness to listen, and great judgement. Not only was he able to defend an unjust accusation, his calm and emphatic demeanor offered succor to me. I am eternally grateful for his service and I highly recommend Mr. Hunt. Also, his staff is extremely accessible and supportive.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
