Verified ClientConsulted Law firm 2023-2024I'm not sure what this other person was referring to - Call was answered for me within 2 rings by a very pleasant receptionist (Taylor, I believe was her name). In any case, I ended up starting with a brief initial consultation (another attorney I met with last week charged me $325 for the consult, Brent only charged me $100 which I thought was extremely reasonable). I am still not sure about my next steps, but I wanted to get some information in case I decide to move forward. And if it does come to that, I plan on calling Brent to handle my issue(s). Divorce is hard enough to think about - I need somebody I can trust, and I found that with Brent and his team. If you're in my position (not sure your next move but want to understand the options) then I'd highly recommend talking to the KL team. My friend might be going through something similar and I've already sent him the info, for whatever that's worth. -JC

Consulted Law firm 2025My paid consultation with Brent Kaspar was nothing more than an outright exercise in frustration, disappointment, and sheer indignation. From the outset, this so-called legal professional proved himself to be nothing more than a pompous charlatan masquerading as a competent attorney. First and foremost, he had the audacity to keep me waiting for ten infuriating minutes past our scheduled appointment, showing neither urgency nor the basic decency to acknowledge his tardiness. No apology, no explanation—just an immediate dive into his pretentious, insufferable monologue, as if I were some inconsequential nuisance interrupting his day. Rather than engage in a meaningful discussion regarding our child custody situation, he steamrolled over every attempt we made to provide context, dismissing our words with thinly veiled contempt and a condescending tone that made it painfully clear he had zero interest in actually helping. He was not merely inattentive—he was willfully ignorant, obstinate, and utterly insufferable. Worse yet, his gaslighting tactics were outright reprehensible. He contradicted our statements, feigned understanding while offering irrelevant legal drivel, and made us feel as though we were somehow in the wrong for expecting competence and professionalism. It was blatantly apparent that he had no intention of taking our case—he was simply going through the motions to justify fleecing us for $225 for what amounted to almost half-hour of being talked down to, ignored, and financially exploited. This wasn’t just a waste of money—it was an insult to anyone seeking genuine legal counsel. His arrogance was suffocating, his listening skills nonexistent, and his integrity laughable. If you value your time, sanity, and financial resources, steer clear of this fraud. I would sooner seek legal advice from a brick wall than endure another minute of his egregiously unprofessional demeanor. Buyer beware. This man is nothing more than an overpriced, underqualified, self-important windbag who should not be entrusted with so much as a parking ticket, let alone something as critical as child custody. After speaking with him, it is crystal clear that all his previous reviews are bought and paid for.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
