I am posting this review on behalf of a someone very close to me. Attorney Matt Holmberg and his lovely assistant Claudia Flores helped us through a very difficult and confusing time. Mr. Holmberg accepted this case to be submitted for SSDI reconsideration following a first denial. He encouraged us that she had a solid case to win and promised to take it all the way through the appeal process if the reconsideration was also denied. Matt and Claudia both communicated clearly, kindly and quickly. They answered all of our questions and gave us all the guidance and help we needed. They sent follow up letters documenting the good work they were doing such as submitting doctors notes, medical records and status inquiries. The best and most remarkable thing is - they got her a win in the reconsideration process ! We did not have to go through a lengthy and painful appeal process ! And ! Since in her case there was no back pay due, only future pay to come, they charged her nothing for all of their good work. Not one penny. We are beyond grateful, and so very relived to know she will have a source of income in the near future, to keep body and soul together. I can not recommend this firm, and these two people in particular, highly enough. May you never need such a service, but if you do ~ these are the good guys !

Our adult daughter with seizures, schizophrenia and an intellectual disability was initially denied SSI benefits. Attorney Young Cho never gave up on us even when we felt like giving up. Darlene De La Rosa was there for us every step of the way too. The fight was long and hard and we would have never received a favorable ruling for our daughter without their tireless efforts. THANK YOU!!

I’m not the best at writing reviews, but I have to say the following. I was so discouraged with trying to get SSI/SSDI that my attorney, Young Cho, came through with more help than I ever expected. I recommend that you hire this firm so you can get the same care and attention to your case.

Law Offices of Lawrence D. Rohlfing, Inc. CPC and Rohlfing & Kalagian handle over a thousand disability claims annually. The firms represent claimants for Social Security disability before the Social Security Administration at initial application, on reconsideration, at hearing before the Office of Hearings and Appeals, before the Appeals Council on request for review, and before the courts. Both offices seek out to represent those claimants that the Social Security Administration has wrongfully denied through all levels of appeal. Many clients come to the offices for primary representation before the Social Security Administration. The members of the firm actively share their experience with other lawyers across in the nation in how to better represent claimants.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
