Consulted Law firm 2025I came to Amaral Law Inc. hoping for professional guidance on a sensitive family matter, but instead left feeling dismissed, judged, and scammed. From the very beginning, the lawyer seemed biased and uninterested in hearing my side of the story — especially as a father trying to be involved in my child’s life. It quickly became clear she holds a strong bias against male clients. Rather than offering legal advice, she spoke down to me, made assumptions about my character without evidence, and seemed more focused on lecturing than helping. I didn’t feel heard — I felt stereotyped. What’s worse is that the "consultation" felt more like a cash grab than anything of value. I paid the fee, expecting insight or a plan, and instead received generic advice with no follow-up, no interest in my case, and no real effort to help. It felt like she had already made up her mind before I even finished explaining the situation. I would caution any fathers or men seeking fair representation to look elsewhere. You deserve an attorney who sees you as a client, not a problem.

Consulted Law firm 2025My experience with Amaral Law Inc. was extremely disappointing. The attorney I dealt with was hostile, condescending, and made assumptions without any basis. Rather than listening to my concerns or providing neutral legal advice, she told me I should "be happy" just to see my son and discouraged me from seeking 50/50 custody—comments that were both inappropriate and unprofessional. There appears to be a pattern of bias, especially in family law matters, and it's telling that some of her own clients have noted favoritism in reviews. Unfortunately, I also felt misled about the consultation process—after paying a fee, I received little more than a dismissive attitude before the conversation was effectively ended. I strongly recommend others do their research before trusting this firm with sensitive family matters.

Hired Law firm 2025The firm has staffing issues and those that are working are quite rude. A law firm should be there to aid and guide their clients, be responsive, and be productive. Although the attorney is probably knowledgable in her field, production and results speak loudly for me...and I saw none of that. They like to fingerpoint rather than move the production needle. Probably my biggest riff lies with the total lack of communication and responsiveness. I reached out to her via phone and email somewhere around 30 times and aside from one phone call that was actually productive, all I got was an admin acknowledging my call or my email...no promise dates, no appointments, no returned phone call from the attorney. Further, at my last-ditch effort to actually speak to the attorney, I blindly showed up at her office only to find both doors locked. Once the receptionist finally let me in, there was no warm greeting or aire of concern about my plight. An employee disregarded my frustration on the issue of no return calls and no work being done on my case, yelled at me (apparently I should be okay with their current level of service), and did nothing to move my case or my issues further along. Her website says this: "...you can count on me to remain by your side at each stage of the legal process — from our initial meeting to the filing of motions and responses, from initial negotiations through to final judgment." I never came face-to-face with her once. She wasn't by my side at all. I spoke with admin and phone monitors. She touts "Client-First Representation." I did not find that to be the case at all. Writing a review that is less than stellar is not something that I do. In this case, I am so terribly disheartened by the lack of communication and progress on a case that was not very challenging and, in my opinion, could have and should have been easy to conclude. I write this review only to share my personal experience with this firm and hope that others that do utilize the services here are met with better outcomes than that which I experienced. I hope, too, that the firm recognizes the errors they made that aided in this distructive outcome so that others are better served in the future.

Hired Law firm 2022-2024I really liked working with Tamran and I appreciated how she was as my lawyer. She stood up for me even outside the court room. I would recommend her to friends and family.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
