Verified ClientHired Attorney 2021-2023I came to Care with a legal issue and some confusion about my standing in the law. I consulted a couple other attorneys, over a couple years as I approached this life event. These consultations never cleared up, for me, where I stood in the law. In short order, Care assured me that where I stood was on firm legal footing and that my issue would be resolved. Working with Care was a pleasure. As she got to know me and my case, thoroughly, I was assured that she understood details of where I had been over many years. She also worked hard on getting resolution against quite difficult opposing attorneys. My issue was solved to my complete satisfaction. I recommend Care Enichen wholeheartedly and with no reservation.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2022-2023I have never been in trouble in my life before so when I was accused of a crime I contacted the only lawyer I knew. He told me that it didn’t matter what the truth was, what I said or what the evidence showed no one would ever believe me. I started looking for a new lawyer and I went to several and they all said the same thing I’d never win, until I met Care. I told her what happened and she said she believed me. It took 20 month of hard work but she found every lie the told, every piece of evidence they lost and omitted or just didn’t bother to investigate. After 20 months of digging and work I was proved innocent. After 20 months Care won the fight everyone else said could not be won. Without Care and her team me and my family would still be suffering because of a lie someone else told.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2022Care knew exactly what she was doing when it came to my case. She listened to my story and knew I made a mistake and that I'd be a better person coming out of this. She will work hard to make sure that you get the best guidance possible through the court process. I would recommend her 10/10 times to anyone who needed legal assistance.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2017Care changed my life. I faced a sudden, nuanced legal situation in June of 2017 that threatened to completely and permanently upend both my career and the well-being of my two gorgeous children. At that unforeseen time of crisis for me, Care Enichen was able to calmly absorb and make use of a great deal of information coming at her at the speed of sound. My sound. Like an expert triage doctor/surgeon with the most comforting bedside manner, what was relevant and useful legally was utilized in full, and what was less useful legally was still essential to her at an emotional level, as she formed a human bond with me, her client. It is that human connection that seems to drive her to show up at work and court every day. Care helps people, not clients, and I am guessing that her ability to find and empathize with that real human inside everyone who she chooses to represent is the key to her successful outcomes. The word 'represent' takes on a new, less legalistic meaning here for me, as I think Care gets inside the skin of each client, which enables her to go to court truly on his or her behalf, as more than their lawyer, but really speaking through them. In a cynical legal world of perfunctory gestures at humanity and advocacy, I think that her natural ability to remind judges, and even the opposing side, that clients are real flesh and blood people with complex lives, is disarming and refreshing to all involved. Care is quite capable of going fully to the mat when necessary, but I am guessing that her preferred method is to first make the fight less mortal before the fight even begins. I never expected to see a cent of my retainer returned, but Care charged only precisely what she could justify to herself, and is worth far more than it set me back. Thanks Care, to you, and to George Bauer and the rest of your terrific paralegal team, on behalf of myself and my two children. Having you in our corner when we needed you was something I will always be grateful for. BL

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
