I stumbled upon Todd during a recent bankruptcy. While working with Todd, he recognized some issues involving my child custody and divorce. Todd fully explained my rights and how his services could help me. All along the way Todd kept me well informed and made it clear when to back off or push forward in regards to my ex-wife's attorney. I put my complete faith in Todd and his team during this trying time. Ultimately he delivered more than I was expecting. My favorite part about dealing with him is his ability to be straight forward about his professional opinion. His experience and customer service made my legal ordeal tolerable and ended with a huge win for me. I highly recommend his services and have referred several friends and co-workers who have also been satisfied.

Todd has regularly handled post-divorce matters for me and regularly keeps my ex-husband responsible for his commitments to his children. Todd is an amazing attorney. He is grounded yet relentless in seeking just and fair resolutions. He came highly recommended and I am so grateful that I finally found an attorney that is both competent and compassionate. He dangles the carrot but isn't afraid to use the stick...all the while being cost-conscious!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
