Hired Law firm 2021After consulting other lawyers, I found some incredibly expensive just for consultation and others said it wasn't worth pursuing in a 'right to work state'. One lawyer I spoke with told me the odds were strongly in the employers favor. I was ready to take the loss until a friend suggested Jim Abrams. Jim listened carefully, understood the facts, and accepted the case for a flat fee. Through his extensive experience, expertise, knowledge, and guidance, we won the appeal! Along with my friend who thankfully suggested him, we highly recommend consulting Jim Abrams, especially when other lawyers say it can't be won.

Hired Law firm 2020I lost my job. I hired one attorney who took an approach to preventing my discharge that was not helpful or successful. I believe that if I had hired Jim first, I would not have been discharged. Jim is a creative, "out of box" thinker who has no fear of the courtroom or being opposed by an employer's large legal department. Through a combination of strategy, discovery of evidence and advocacy, we partnered and were able to cause the employer to come to the table, settle my case on fair terms and restore my reputation, which enabled me to move on. Jim is a first-rate attorney. He will work around the clock for you. It was not unusual for me to receive emails from him late at night or very early in the morning. I recommend him highly.

Hired Law firm 2018-2020Jim Abrams is the only choice to make . He’s knowledgeable, compassionate to the employee that was robbed of their wages and held hostage to the abusive employer . He takes that terrible experience and makes it right for you . He’s a good man in the middle of a really bad world fighting for whats right!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
