Hired Attorney 2021RUN FOR THE HILLS! If you're life is on the line, there are better options. I had a DUI. I wasn't driving. I wasn't seen driving. I was standing outside the bar. I failed the field test because I was drunk. I was arrested and while being handcuffed I demanded a chemical test. They asked which test. I said breath. They said ok then came back and said they can't do breath bc of COVID. I said ok, I'll take a blood test. All of this is on camera. $7,000 later (everyone else charges ~$2,000- his was the law firm Legal Shield partnered with, also a rip off) he can't even win the DMV hearing which decides whether i have a device in my car for 2 years, bc they said I refused, which I didn't. I said I wasn't going to calm down- that's not the same as saying I won't take a chemical test. But he'll represent me at the appeal for $4,000. What? Who is going to pay you to fix something you didn't do right initially? I had 35 days to submit my appeal. I was waiting to see if the DA was going to offer a DWAI instead of DUI bc that's a lighter sentence but also DUI is an automatic 2 years on interlock, so there's no point in appealing. Do you know he would not pursue anything with the DA? I kept waiting for the plea deal (going to court would be another $11,000) so I could make my move and he waited until the 13th hour to do anything so I almost lost my chance at appeal. He just pocketed an easy $7,000 and did nothing. It should have been thrown out. But he's not going to do anything for you unless you pay up. Fraud.

Consulted Attorney 2022For accurate and representative reviews of this attorney’s abilities, please see the many, many five-star reviews at Timothy O'Keefe - Lawyer in Denver, CO - Avvo. This site does not allow the attorney to respond to the misleading one-star reviews on this site. The Avvo site provides reviews from clients who the attorney actually worked and communicated regularly with. Please be extremely wary of negative reviews on this site, which contain either blatant fabrications of representation or tortured and warped views of a personal and narrow view of free speech.

Consulted Attorney 2022I was recommended to this through a service that I pay for at and I'm not happy. First of all his legal assistant called me and was explaining to me that Tim charges for his initial consultation, which I questioned cause it's like a roofing company charging to come give you an estimate. When I questioned her she told me I was raising my voice and that she didn't have to listen to me then hung up on me. The following day Tim called me and explained to me the same thing about his consultation fee,so, I questioned his history and record. He told me that he has been a lawyer for around 20 years and has a of 20 reviews but pay attention to the 1☆ review cause that guy's a liar and he has right to put lies on the internet. I then questioned him as lawyer to say that someone doesn't have the "rights" to put lies on the internet and asked him if he was familiar with the 1st amendment to which he said that the 1st amendment doesn't cover people lying on him. I'm not using him but you can draw your own conclusions. Good luck!

Hired Attorney 2020I highly recommend Tim! He handled my case in a highly professional manner and guided me through every step of the legal process. I felt comforted knowing I had someone in my corner who understood the law and was working for me! He works efficiently, is detail-oriented and personable.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
