I am a lawyer here in Colorado. When I needed a consultation to help me understand the full range of issues facing my civil client, my research led me to Robert Abrams. I first contacted him by email, and he invited me to call him. He was generous with his time and his expertise in the area of my litigation was unquestionable. He provided me expanded assistance by introducing me to other experts in the area of my specific need, and took extra time out of his busy practice to identify and locate them for me. I expect to use him as an expert witness in this case, and I eagerly await the opportunity to work with him on other complex contract and construction-related projects. Daniel J. Deters, Esq.

Although I didn’t utilize his services, Robert and his staff have been outstanding in both character and professionalism as both a potential client and former employee. I would highly recommend Abrams and Associates

Choosing an attorney for legal issues can be very stressing because who knows of their competence and/or trustworthiness until you’re already committed. My issue may not have been the largest legal issue but it was momentous to me and my circumstances. I was very impressed with the outcome provided by the entire team in the office of Abrams, Sullenberger & Associates, LLC. The team took the matter and resolved it in the most efficient and inexpensive manner that I was giddily surprised. I’m extremely satisfied and would highly recommend this team of attorneys for the trustworthiness and competence that I recognized after all was said and done. The office always kept me apprised of updates and always explained procedures before a decision was made, which made me part of any decisions going forward. I felt they took my small issue and made it as significant to their office for resolve as it was to me.

I contacted Mr. Abrams after running into construction defect issues and a contractor who would not take responsibility for fixing said issues. I had naively signed the contractor's agreement before having it reviewed by a lawyer and that put me in a corner where I needed a heavy hitter to help me out. Lesson learned. From the first initial phone call with Mr. Abrams, I knew this was going to be my go-to attorney. He was attentive, respectful, and most of all extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter. As we dove into the intricacies of the case I was introduced to two other attorneys in the office, Neil and Jennifer, and their Paralegal, Michael. They were all equally as attentive and knowledgeable with everything they handled. Every time I called or e-mailed I would get an almost immediate response. When it came time to file and deal with the contractor's insurance company, the whole team stepped up and got us a settlement to cover the repair costs, and litigation was thankfully avoided. I would happily recommend Abrams, Sullenberger & Associates, LLC to anyone looking for help in uncharted waters. I am very happy with the outcome and the attentiveness I received.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
