Verified ClientHired Attorney 2019-2021Doug represented me in a D&N with DHS/CPS, and then later in my divorce case. He was blunt and direct in making sure that I took the right steps throughout each case. DHS returned custody and Doug swiftly handled an appeal with the state to get everything removed from my record, without ever having to go to trial. In my divorce case, he got it transferred to CO from out of state, which could have been a nightmare, but Doug made it a smooth and easy process for me. By the end of the divorce, not only did I have majority parenting time and full decision making, but I was approved to move out of Colorado with my children. My ex-spouse was ordered to pay child support and a six-figure judgment. So to recap: Doug entered my case when I had ZERO CUSTODY of my children and a brand new CPS case. He closed my divorce case as I moved OUT OF COLORADO with my children, with FULL CUSTODY, a six figure judgment against my ex-spouse, and a large monthly child support order. Most importantly, Doug helped end a four year battle, with my children and I coming out the other side in one piece. Doug was the 4th attorney I hired and the only attorney for the job! Doug's paralegal Bonnie is meticulous, detail oriented, prompt, professional, and compassionate. She is an excellent communicator and continuously ensured that Doug and I were on the same page, and that we never missed a deadline - she is invaluable to this office! Verified ClientHired Attorney 2019-2020Doug was great. Blunt, straight to the point. Clear expectations. Under promised and over delivered. My situation was bad. My house was raided and the evidence against me had me dead to rights. I didn’t see anything In my near future but a jail cell. I was facing serious felony charges. 3 F2s, 2 F3s and 2 F2s. Usually in these types of situations the da and or cops want you to talk. And Doug knew that this wasn’t something that I felt comfortable doing. He put in the hours and figured out a way for me to walk away w just a single misdemeanor and probation. He went above and beyond to help me out of a very unhealthy living situation and lifestyle. He communicated w my family ( w my permission) and I throughout the entire process. And jumped through hoops to help me get to an out of state rehab facility. At which one point I wanted to leave and he convinced me that staying would not only be in my cases best interest but personally as well. He genuinely cares about his clients. Even the guilty ones. And treats you like a person, not a criminal. Hopefully, I won’t need legal help in the future. But if I do, I would definitely come back to Peak legal services again.
