I was hesitant to contact an attorney after I was hit by a car, but dealing with the hospital and insurance companies proved to be too overwhelming and frustrating for me to handle on my own. The VanMeveren Law Group took care of everything for me. Everything was neatly resolved, they always kept me in on what was going on, and were pleasant to work with. I honestly wish I had called them sooner.

I was involved in an auto accident where my car was hit in the rear while stopped for a traffic light. I thought the driver's insurance would pay for my hospital charges and damage to my car. WRONG!!!! After contacting the at fault driver's insurance company over a period of more than a year, I finally decided that they were trying to avoid me and hope that I would permit the time to file a claim expire. WRONG AGAIN!!! I did the best thing I have done in years, I contacted Bryan S. VanMeveren Law Group, P.C. Upon meeting Bryan and his staff, I felt so relived of the stress that I had over the accident. They were caring, professional, trusting, and I am so glad to have Bryan take my case and as a result I received a settlement way beyond what I had requested from the insurance company.

After an unfortunate bike accident, I found myself needing the services of the VanMeveren Law Group. After working with them for a year, I can highly recommend their services. Even though my case was not huge monetarily, they were completely dedicated and negotiated a settlement that was much higher than I could have imagined. The entire staff is professional, compassionate and extremely competent. I cannot thank them enough for all the work they put in to my very satisfactory outcome.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
