Hired Attorney 2021Being represented by Chris Radeff was an experience beyond my worst nightmare. She completely destroyed our case, allowed my ex husband to kidnap my 18 month old daughter, allowed him to make a variety of (immediately) disprovable claims and withhold my daughter for months before then agreeing to have me on “supervised” visitation (on no grounds whatsoever). We ended up shelling out $1,000 a month on visitation costs for the next four months after the kidnapping. She never responded to emails or calls, and made us feel entirely powerless against my abuser. My child was in a dangerous situation and she could have cared less, about my infant daughter or myself. She blew through our $5,000 retainer in a month and did NOTHING but damage our case. Please, PLEASE spare yourself from this heartless wench, ESPECIALLY if you have children. She will drag you through the coals, gauge you for everything you’re worth, never respond, and do irrevocable damage to your case. So grateful we fired her and went to another attorney, the experience has been night and day. Save yourself and go to ANYONE else, this woman should be DISBARRED.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
