Attorney Rachel K. Shipman has over 30 years experience in the areas of Elder Law, Probate, Healthcare, Family and Civil matters. She represents clients in all aspects of estate planning including Will preparation, Trust drafting and other advanced planning issues. Her elder law practice includes counseling families on asset protection, nursing home, assisted living, and various options to keep seniors in their homes, as well as eligibility for governmental benefits including Medicaid and Medicare. In Probate Court Attorney Shipman provides representation in matters involving decedent estates, conservatorships, and guardianships. She serves in various fiduciary capacities and represents individuals who serve in such capacities.
In addition to her private practice, Attorney Shipman previously served as a law clerk in Superior Court and was affiliated with a large law firm in Hartford. More recently, she was General Counsel and Vice President for a major nursing home provider. She resides with her family in Simsbury, CT and enjoys, golf, hiking and spending time with her rescue dogs.
