Bartow Criminal Defense Lawyer
Overview
I am passionate about defending my clients. Ever since the mid-1990s, when I was in high school, I've known that I wanted to be a lawyer because of my deep sense of justice and commitment to doing the right thing. I began my career in 2005 as a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office in Bartow, Florida. During that time, I honed my trial and negotiation skills, enabling me to successfully handle cases ranging from misdemeanor DUI to violent crimes such as robbery and murder.
Since 2012, I have been in private practice. In 2014, I achieved Board Certification in Criminal Trial Practice, which recognizes my skills, experience, knowledge, ethics, and professionalism as a specialist in criminal law. Since 2015, I have focused exclusively on criminal defense, and I've developed a reputation for tirelessly advocating for my clients and preparing every case as though it will go to trial. From 2015 to 2024, I had the privilege of working with one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the Tampa Bay area, defending clients against some of the most serious charges, including first-degree murder cases where the prosecution sought the death penalty.
My extensive experience has taught me two crucial lessons about being a great attorney: always care deeply about your clients and remember that you are only as good as your last case.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
