Attorney Information

Overview

Jason Hamilton Mikes, JD, MBA, is the Managing Shareholder of Hamilton Mikes, P.A., and an executive attorney with more than twenty years of experience representing condominiums, HOAs, cooperatives, country clubs, marinas and other community associations throughout Southwest Florida. Known for his strategic judgment, disciplined execution, and results‑driven advocacy, Jason provides counsel in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, construction and real estate law, insurance recovery, emergency preparedness, and complex litigation.

Jason has led association clients through high‑stakes matters including multimillion‑dollar fraud recovery, construction defect litigation, hurricane‑related insurance claims, and large‑scale corporate and property mergers. His work includes recovering $10.3 million for 35 condominiums and HOAs victimized by fraud, securing $700,000+ in construction defect damages for a residential condominium, and obtaining $500,000+ for a country club through coordinated litigation against multiple national entities. He also served as lead counsel on a $250 million+ multi‑state refinance involving a portfolio of outlet malls across the Southeastern United States.

A respected advisor and recognized industry leader, Jason has earned the Martindale‑Hubbell® AV® Preeminent™ rating every year since 2012 and has been named a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star multiple times. His legal strategy and appellate work have shaped Florida community association law, including a published decision in Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. v. Sterling Oaks Community Association and Club, Inc., 209 So. 3d 586 (Fla. 2d DCA 2016).

Jason is also known for his crisis leadership. He has guided dozens of condominiums and HOAs through the aftermath of Hurricanes Charley, Wilma, Irma, Ian and Milton—coordinating emergency response, navigating complex insurance claims, and supporting reconstruction efforts. His ability to unify stakeholders was instrumental in successfully merging 20 community associations into five, creating more efficient and cost‑effective operating entities.

Jason holds both a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Stetson University College of Law, along with a Florida Supreme Court Civil Mediation Certification. He is admitted to practice in Florida and in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.

Beyond his legal practice, Jason is a mentor, business owner, and youth leader committed to developing future leaders through faith‑based mentorship and elite soccer coaching.
