Kevin Schaefer is an associate attorney at Dabdoub Law Firm. Kevin began his legal career as a law clerk at the firm while in law school. His passion for helping people get the disability benefits they deserve became a full-time job when he joined the firm as a disability lawyer after graduating from law school.
Kevin focuses on assisting clients with claims for short term and long term disability benefits. He handles long term disability appeals when those benefits are wrongly denied or terminated and lawsuits for disability insurance benefits in state and federal court. His clients are entitled to disability benefits through individual or group disability insurance policies. The majority of his clients’ claims fall under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Since joining Dabdoub Law Firm, Kevin has represented clients with claims against all major disability insurance companies. His clients suffer from many different medical conditions, including, but not limited to, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, stroke, cardiovascular disease, Meniere’s disease, cognitive impairments, and concussions. Kevin has also represented former NFL players in their fight for total and permanent disability benefits under the NFL’s disability plan.
Kevin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, Kevin worked in an in-house legal department for a large infrastructure corporation. While attending the University of Miami School of Law, he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his work in Representing a Pro Sports Franchise course. Prior to attending law school, Kevin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, along with a minor in Sports Business Management.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2017-2020I first met Kevin in late 2017 after my disability insurance company denied my short-term and long-term benefits. My selection process was pretty intense and even had my mother on the various calls as I tried to make my selection. My selection to go with Kevin and the Dabdoub firm came down to three main characteristic’s. First was knowledge of the industry, second was how transparent Kevin was and finally third was high moral standard he had. Kevin is extreme knowledgeable about cases that fall under ERISA and he took the time to explain them to me so I knew what was going on at all phases. He is true professional in these matters. My case with Cigna/Lina lasted about 3 years which ended with a lump-sum buyout that met my expectations. It was not an easy case to manage as Cigna denied benefits twice and Kevin and team appealed and won both times. Kevin demonstrated high legal prowess for both appeals and finally for the buyout. His high-value consultation to me was tremendous and really made it easy for me to deal with being denied twice. If a situation arises with me again or with anyone I know I will highly recommend they consult with the Dabdoub firm.
