In my honest opinion, Chusid, Katz, Esposado, LLP is one of the best law firms ever. Having worked closely with them for nearly three years, I can attest to the exceptional quality of their lawyers and staff. What sets them apart is the genuine care and attention they give to each client, discussing their cases with empathy and compassion, as if they were family. The team is always available for their clients, treating everyone with kindness and respect. Mitch Chusid, in particular, is one of the most remarkable people I've had the privilege of meeting. This law firm fights tirelessly to achieve outstanding results for their clients. I'm proud to give Chusid, Katz, Espesado, LLP 5 big stars. They are truly trustworthy.

I just suffered using this firm for my closing in Florida. It was, by far, the absolute worst closing we've ever endured. Sure, buying and/or selling a home is always stressful, but this was well beyond a nightmare from the very beginning. Greg Ritter couldn't be bothered to return emails or phone calls...and there were OVER 250 emails over the month due to the multitude of errors made by his staff. The only time he called me was in the very beginning of our transaction because the first "paralegal" made a number of errors-one of which almost cost us the purchase of the home. She was either very incompetent or overworked with files. The second "professional" to handle our file was a nice, elderly woman who managed to make even more errors than the first woman. After I caught more than $3500.00 worth of errors on the CD, the only response I received was, "you've got an eagle eye, Julie!" to which I responded, "I'm terrified". This went on for over one month. I literally spent well over 20 hours of MY time babysitting every part of the deal. Even the seller's Realtor had to get involved to help. Of course, the seller himself was very, very sorry he chose them to handle the closing. While he got his proceeds wired to him, no one else received their money/commission without countless emails to the firm and then their Underwriters!!! They made up excuses to my attorney saying their mailbox got broken into, they were in the process of moving and the checks were mistakenly placed in one of the moving boxes and on and on. I truly began to think this was a fraudulent company who was stealing funds. I don't know of ANY other Title Company who uses the USPS to disburse funds from a closing, let alone any who take WEEKS to do so. I didn't even know that neither my homeowner's insurance, nor the capital investment wasn't paid after the closing until I received an email from my ins. rep/HOA contacted me due to non-payment. My Attorney, both real estate agents, and my mortgage broker all stated that they have never been a party to such incompetence. The mortgage company placed Ritter/Chusid on their list of title companies they will NOT work with!!! I have emails to back-up everything I've written here!

I have worked closely Mitch Chusid, Jordan Chusid and several other lawyers and staff for several years. My situation has been incredibly complicated and extremely overwhelming at times. Mitch and Jordan had my back when no one else did and have fought tooth and nail every step of the way for me. They made themselves available whenever I needed them and have truly helped me through some very trying times. I trust them to do what is in my best interest. Everyone at this firm has a heart of gold and when they take on a case, they put everything into it. I have been treated with a massive amount of compassion, kindness and even some comedy when it was so desperately needed at times. When it comes to Mitch specifically, he is so incredibly passionate about what he does that I feel bad for anyone who has to go up against him. The first thing that I think of is that he’s a cross between a knight in shining armor and the epitome of the saying, “mess with the bull and you get the horns.” His son, Jordan, is not far behind. All of other lawyers that I have worked with there have been phenomenal. I don’t have a single thing to say about this firm that is anything less than glowing.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
