I had been living in Florida for only a year (in 2015) when I found myself in trouble with the law. I received my 4th DUI within 5 years (a felony) and was driving with a suspended license. After being arrested, I knew I would have to lawyer up BIG TIME. With the charges I had pending against me, I was looking at a possible 5 year prison sentence. Being new to the state, I had no idea where to turn. By the grace of God my bails bondman suggested I go see Robert Malove. I called Robert that morning and he saw me that same day. The first thing Robert asked me when he met me was "how are you feeling, I know you are nervous and anxious", then continued to ask me about me... wanting to know me as a person, and sincerely, not just a client (which was very refreshing and unexpected). We then discussed my case and he directed me with the next steps, not just to help my case, but to help myself and my addiction. He was just genuinely concerned about me and my well-being first and foremost. He was very honest with me in explaining the severity of my crime (no sugar coating) prepare for the worst but hope for the best. But he was going to do anything and everything he could do to get the best outcome. When I went to court, he was always there early to comfort me before speaking to the judge. The prosecutor wanted to give me no less than 18 months in jail, which I assumed I should just prepare myself for, but Rob was not going to settle for that. My sentencing was delayed for 2 years (2017), but Rob knew what he was doing, going back and forth with the prosecutors and working to keep me out of jail. He made sure all resources were exhausted during those 2 years and unlike many attorneys, he never once asked for or charged me another dime. He always made himself available to discuss any questions or concerns I had. Not only that, would reach out to me to sincerely find out how I was doing and assure me I could trust him, he put me at ease that he was going to get me the best possible outcome. The day I went to court to resolve my case, I was prepared to serve jail time. Rob plead for a downward departure (lesser sentence), and finally the prosecutor agreed to 1 year of house arrest and probation. Yet again, in COMPLETE AWE, Rob got them to agree to 6 months house arrest (no ankle bracelet) and 3 years of probation. I never in a million years thought this would be the outcome. I was facing 18 months of jail time, and because of Rob's hard work and persistence, I left that courtroom without handcuffs. My story with Rob does not end there. In 2020, I was pulled over on my way to work for driving with a suspended license. Since this was second offense driving with a suspended license, charges are punishable by a possible 1 year in jail. Here I was again in a very bad situation. The first person I called was Rob. Although I thought, he would be disappointed I was putting myself in a bad situation again, he once again stepped up and willing to go to bat for me. The prosecutor was reminding the judge of my past convictions and that the maximum sentence was at least fair. I thought that would be it, seeing I got a "stay out of jail free card" before, and broke the law again. Once again, this was not the accepted by Rob. Eventually, the plea and final judgement was 10 days in jail and $200 fine (which may not sound perfect, but consider 1 year) . I was once again AMAZED by Rob's finesse in the courtroom and his persistence. Because of Rob "Miracle Worker" Malove, I have avoided long term jail sentences. I can live my life normally and not behind bars (where I would still be for the first mentioned charges). I will forever be in debt to Rob and can't even express in words how grateful I am to have had him my corner at the worst times of my life. You would never regret having Robert Malove as your attorney, hands down the best man for your case. Not only is he very well respected among his peers and the courts, but he has ALL of my respect.

In February 2023, we hired Robert Malove to appeal my partner's case after a shocking guilty verdict, on a case that had no physical evidence and so many things wrong throughout the case. So many bizarre things occurred, that resulted in her getting wrongfully convicted. Afterward, she felt desperate, and it was our decision to hire an attorney to appeal it, based on what was happening. Mr. Malove's team went right to work, and they reassured her they would do everything they could to help her. They put in several hours of their time and were always available if she had questions. In April of 2023, the judge sentenced the felony as withhold after she completes probation. Her worst fear, a felony adjudication, was off the table. Her original attorney agreed that they would take the appeal instead. They felt bad about losing and want to make it right. The case was not handled properly by the original attorneys, but we are hopeful they can win in an appeal. As such, we no longer required Mr. Robert Malove's assistance. They were nothing but happy for my partner and graciously refunded almost 85% of her retainer, unheard of. I highly recommend Robert Malove for any and all of your legal needs. The staff is amazing, something we don't usually get, especially during these times.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
