Verified ClientHired Attorney 2024-2025I normally don’t write reviews unless I have a strong opinion about something. For this reason, I feel compelled to write about my family’s experience with Joshua Danz. During an incredibly stressful time in our lives, we needed to find a criminal attorney ASAP for a family member who got into trouble. This was completely new and unfamiliar territory for us. As I started researching local attorneys, Joshua Danz stood out to me. Not only were his reviews exemplary, but two specific factors convinced me he might be the attorney we needed. First, he was a former prosecutor. Having this experience gives him the insight as to how the other side would think, allowing him to be one step ahead of them. Second, his biography stated he was one of the top debaters in the country, leading his college speech and debate team as the President and Captain. In addition, he was a three-time state champion and held numerous national finalist titles. This alone was an important aspect for me. If you are a top debater, you know how to talk, and you could be very influential and persuasive. Isn’t that a quality I would want in someone who will be talking to prosecutors and judges? Most definitely. We contacted Josh over the weekend through his website. With no expectations of hearing back from anyone until Monday, Josh personally contacted us straightaway. He made arrangements to speak with my husband the following morning. During that second conversation, my husband said he was very impressed with him and said he seemed extremely knowledgeable and had the experience for our type of case. Josh said we needed to meet in person right away to get on top of the case and discuss our options. We were in his office by Monday afternoon. During our meeting, Josh was very professional, respectful, kind, patient and compassionate. It was evident that he genuinely cared about his clients. He was extremely articulate – which was no surprise being a top debater. We knew he would be our guy. At the time, we were distraught, anxious and felt like our world was crumbling down, but knowing we were going to have Josh on our side gave us some comfort. He assured us he would fight for us as if it were his own family member in jeopardy, and in our hearts, we trusted this. In a span of several months, Josh always kept us in the loop, and if we needed to contact him, he was always quick to respond. He always had different strategies in mind to help our case. Although things looked very discouraging at times, I am happy to say that Josh pulled off a miracle and got us an outcome we could have never imagined. I believe his experience as a prosecutor and the relations he has formed with former colleagues at the State Attorney’s office, along with his expertise, helped us to come out victoriously. I highly recommend Josh Danz. He is everything an attorney working on your behalf should embody. He has the knowledge, expertise, experience and talent. He is respected and highly regarded by his peers, which was obvious when others in the legal field we encountered spoke to us. Not only is he an exemplary attorney, but he is also just a great guy in general. Virtuous, principled and empathetic. I know if we were to contact him anytime in the future just to get some advice, he would take the time to speak with us. We thank Josh from the bottom of our hearts for all the guidance and work he did on our behalf. We hope we will never need another criminal attorney, but should the need arise, we know who we would call in an instant.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
