Hired Attorney 2018-2019I consider myself a law abiding individual and was traumatized by finding myself in jail and being charged a criminal offense while I was visiting St. Augustine . I had no idea I was in violation of a law nor that I was committing municipal code violation. I was frisked, fingerprinted, photographed while in tears, placed in a cell with a metal bed and a 2 inch thick vinyl covered foam matt with a flannel blanket I used to cover my head as they do not turn of the lights in jail over night, given a toothbrush and a comb which broke when I attempted to use it prior to appearing before the judge, placed in shackles, given a slice of bed a dab of jelly, and cold what appeared to be scramble eggs and grits (which did not taste like either). It was very scary and I had expected to be sleeping in my nice hotel room and having a nice breakfast on the water to celebrate my anniversary with my spouse in beautiful St. Augustine certainly not this. David Robbins and his team immediately were sympathetic and acknowledged the absurdity of me being arrested thus immediately I felt validated and human again after a very dehumanizing experience. They held my hand through the entire process and though their perseverance and competence the charge was dropped and expunged. I am forever grateful and thankful for the help and truly appreciate how personable, attentive, available and responsive everyone at the firm was to me. I was a shaking mess when I called David Robbins law firm. I am here today whole standing tall and more able to forward and forget about one of the worst nights of my life thanks to David Robbins firm.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
