I have used Lasky law firm twice. Cindy was my attorney for divorce and everything was in my favor. And then used Lasky law firm for a very difficult custody battle. John Clarke ended up representing my case and he is amazing. In the end I won!! Lasky law firm always answered emails and kept me in the loop. Always up front and honest. They truly are incredible and care about you. Hopefully I never need a lawyer again, but if I do I will be choosing Lasky Law Firm 100%

I would recommend using the Lasky law firm to anyone that is going through a custody battle. This law firm always had the best interest of my daughter in mind. They returned calls on weekends and after hours. The staff in the office would send emails just to see how I personally was doing! I know what you're thinking they billed me for that. Answer no they didn't, they truly cared for me as if I were family. I went through a few law firms until I landed here and I am greatful to everyone who works here!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
