Hired Law firm 2024-2025I retained Deborah Chames and her firm a few months ago to help with child support and reunification with my children, as I haven’t been able to see them in nearly eight years due to the mother’s interference. From the beginning, Deborah and her team have been nothing short of outstanding. After years of working with lawyers who drained me financially and failed to deliver results, I finally feel like I’m in good hands. Actually, I feel like I am in the best hands. Deborah’s approach to my case has been meticulous and strategic. Every court filing is prepared with incredible attention to detail, which has given me confidence that my case is being handled with the highest level of care and professionalism. Her team, including the paralegals and support staff, works seamlessly to ensure everything is addressed promptly and efficiently. What sets Deborah apart is her understanding of how emotional these cases can be. She has been a consistent source of encouragement during an otherwise challenging and overwhelming process. Whenever I feel discouraged, Deborah is always there to provide reassurance and guidance, which has made a significant difference in my ability to stay focused. This is the most important aspect to me personally. If you’re looking for a family law attorney who combines exceptional legal expertise with compassion and dedication, I wholeheartedly recommend Deborah Chames and her firm. They have brought a sense of hope and progress to my case that I didn’t think was possible.

Hired Law firm 2010-2014Deborah Chames is an evil person. She pawned me off on her associates and charges me more than I could ever afford. I am in debt because of this woman. She was not on my side. She is on her own side.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
