"As everyone hopes they don’t need a lawyer to help deal with a trademark issue, it’s really awesome when you find someone that helps when you do. Shaun was outstanding from the beginning! After being in business for 27 successful years, someone started using a name so close to ours that it was confusing long running existing customers and suppliers. Shaun was precise, to the point legally, and timely. We would recommend him to anyone needing help in this field. He even recommended, and is handling, getting our logo and name trademarked in case of future issues. We also found him extremely reasonable."

Verified ClientConsulted Law firm 2021I really enjoyed working with Shaun. He took the time to understand my issue and asked questions before providing several options. He was patient as I asked several questions to make I understood those options. He helped walk me through what would be best for my situation. I highly recommend Shaun!

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2020-2022This is the second review I’ve ever written but Shaun more then deserves one so here goes. Shaun is very professional, responsive, knowledgeable and best of all, HUMAN. I went through 2 extremely difficult years of litigation for a copyright infringement and tortious interference claim that was filed against me, and Shaun was the only reason I made it through it all. I never felt like I was just his client, I felt like his friend. Shaun if you're reading this, I can't thank you enough, you got me through a horribly difficult litigation process that at one point felt like it had no end. I don't think any other attorney would have worked as hard as you did for me, because of you I prevailed and got my life back. I gave you 5 stars because that's all that's allowed but you deserve more, thank you for everything you did for me Shaun, I wish you success which you more then deserve.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
