Overview
Mr. Manuel grew up and was educated in northwest Florida. He received both his undergraduate Finance degree and his Law degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He began his law practice in Panama City, Florida in 1986.
From the very beginning; Mr. Manuel has limited his practice to matters involving serious personal injury or wrongful death, or matters involving insurance litigation. He is licensed to practice law before all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, The United States Claims Court and the United States Supreme Court. He is board certified in civil trial law by The Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Manuel has been involved in the following professional associations: The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (Eagle Contributor; Wings of Justice Award, 2000); Alabama Trial Lawyers Association; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; The Florida Bar Civil Procedure Rules Committee; The Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section; American Bar Association; Bay County Bar Association; Bay County Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Mr. Manuel also passed the Alabama State Bar exam in 1987 and has remained an active member of the Alabama State Bar since that time.
Mr. Manuel participates in many community and church activities. He has served on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourteenth Circuit of the state of Florida (1998 - 2002, Chair 2001-2002). He is a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church where he is a Sunday School teacher in the children's department. He is a member of the Panama City Rotary Club where he serves on the board of directors. He also serves on the board of directors of the Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross. In addition, he has been an ardent supporter of youth sports and recreational activities. He has coached sports teams for children ranging in age from five to sixteen years. He has served as a Little League Baseball coach for the past ten years and a youth basketball coach for the past 5 years.
