Let me start off by saying when you have a car accident, there are so many emotions and things you don’t think about. The first thing you should do, no matter what any insurance company tells you to do, is get an Attorney! Living in the Navarre, FL area and close to Pensacola, FL, there are so many Law firms to choose from. So what do you do? Well being retired military, I did some digging, and diligent research, and also found a friendly face! Who I found was Rachael R. Gilmer at Levin, Papantonio, and Rafferty in Pensacola, FL. At my first introduction, I was very impressed, from someone who was younger than myself, her professionalism, knowledge, and will to get me the “Best Results” possible for my case, I was immediately willing to go forward with Mrs. Gilmer. There was never a moment throughout the duration of my case where she or her dedicated staff made me feel like I had made the wrong choice. I was always informed or every change in my case, or any information update, new timetables, and any variable you can imagine. Mrs. Gilmer unlike some other law firms I have dealt with in the past, actually cares and is compassionate about her clients and it shows! If you are looking for an Attorney who will work for YOU and has YOUR best interests at heart, look no further than Rachael Gilmer, you won’t regret your choice!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
