Hired Law firm 2012-2020Before talking about an absolutely amazing job Mr Kurpiers did for me I will start with how we met. I was at the gym getting my daily workout and when I was done I went into the locker room to shower before leaving. While getting dressed of all things I struck up a conversation with at the time just another fellow gym member with a warm inviting personality(which explains why the conversation lasted so long). Among other things, we talked about our occupations and I learned Mr Kurpiers was a lawyer. Ironically at the time I was dealing with a very serious legal issue but I didn’t discuss it with Mr Kurpiers because I already hired a lawyer and our conversation was interesting enough that the thought of sharing my troubles with him never crossed my mind. Before parting ways Mr Kurpiers gave me his business card and said if I ever wanted to workout together I could contact him. Back to why I’m writing this review......... While dealing with my legal issues with my lawyer I became increasingly concerned about his ability to effectively handle the magnitude and severity of my case because it was with the federal government. I called Mr Kurpiers and explained my situation to him and after hearing his response, and a little bit of his strategy, I immediately fired my lawyer and hired My Kurpiers. Early on I was deathly afraid of the outcome so I was not in a good mental state. No lawyer can accurately predict the outcome of a case so when Mr Kurpiers assured me everything would be ok, I had serious doubts until I witnessed a level of professionalism that can only be described as “Surgical”. Mr Kurpiers did exactly what he promised he would do and my results exceed my expectations. I have some very important advice based on my personal experience. When hiring a lawyer please, please please, please, make sure he or she is a trial attorney. A trial attorney is capable of “going the distance” which means he or she can try a case in open court. Why is this important? Because when the other side threatens to take your case to trial your lawyer doesn’t get scared and settle……settling could result in you pleading guilty to a crime you didn’t commit because your lawyer has no trial experience and is easily intimidated. Mr Kupiers is the trial attorney you want when you expect results and not just effort. Thanks to you Mr Kurpiers I have my life back and I will forever be grateful because you saved my life! When I think back on my life and the paths I have taken I get chills when I ask myself “what if I had just left the gym that day and showered at home”. Thank you Ron for saving my life! Derrick

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
