Although I got flustered at the time frame, Adrian was clear on everything and answered all questions honestly and within reasonable limits. His work and his PI achieved my ultimate goal of Early Termination of Probation on a very serious charge dating back to 2002. I was actually shocked by my ET due to charges, but overwhelmed when advised by me PO that I was OFF! Recommend Adrian and the firm to those in need of help. Price was reasonable and well worth it.

After being referred to the Law Firm of Escobar, Michaels and Associates I could not be more pleased. I have since referred clients myself due to the expertise and attention to detail this firm commits to you, their clients. The staff from the moment you walk in, until you leave, give you the attention and respect you deserve. The kindness and charm the staff gives is as welcomed as much as the intelligence their lawyers provide for your case. Everyone looking for a great Law Firm should consult with the office of Escobar, Michaels and Associates.

If I could give negative score I would. I first hired Mr. Michaels to defend my loved one (LO) on an empty baggie third degree felony possession charge. I’d never done this and did not realize I gave him 5x the going rate for this type of charge. He got my loved one time served but warned next time they’d go to prison. My loved one said How can this be? That can’t be right, but was ignored. My LO was charged again for same thing x2 and they offered LO a plea deal. The issue? Nobody still has checked the Score Sheet prosecutors use for sentence guidelines and LOs contained a HUGE error DOUBLING the score. Mr. Michaels should have made this his very first order of business. He charged me $5000 to fight a single possession charge and he just didn’t bother to check it. The error was found when Mr Escobars office sent a copy of the score sheet to us. Another of LOs loved one found the error! Now we’ve been pushed to Denitsa Kolev and things go from bad to worse. LO was locked up in another county (same charge) and got sentenced to a day but before court in other county Ms Kolev was telling LO on phone calls (that she billed LO for), that the state had another charge pending against LO in this county, and she will represent her for 4g or walk out of the courtroom. She harassed and terrorized LO while LO was behind bars and helpless, with these types of threats about this charge nobody could see or knew about ( except Ms. Kolev) until LO returned to the county. We did not want Ms Kolev to represent LO but she said sorry but the firm was hired and you take what you get. From the very beginning of LOs relationship with Ms Kolev she was ignored and lied to, and billed for every Xerox they made. I was at all of LOs court appearances. At sentencing Kolev told me she had spent a whole hour talking to LO, the night before but when I spoke to LO after court, I was told Kolev hadnt spoken to LO in over a week, so this was the last of many many lies and untruths Kolev told us. At this point none of us trust her. It feels like she’s still working for the state and not her client. LO had a panic attack and had to leave court bc of what Kolev sprang on them at the very last minute. LO requested a week before her sentencing to speak to her attny but calls were not returned. The firm would not acknowledge before the judge the scoresheet mistake, ask for a new plea, or make any effort on LOs behalf. Kolev told me she was “well liked” at the courtroom. She clearly pals around with prosecutors. I’d rather have a competent attorney than one well liked and LO got shafted badly from the beginning and this firms only concern was the billing. Read well the reviewer who says Mr Escobar strolled through the room while they were consulting with one of his associates, and casually mentioned the strategy he was selling the clients on could not be done , then strolled out and allowed this associate to sell that it could be done, took their money, and it backfired on them bc that is what is happening here at this firm. LO got a yr and had to stand next to another unfortunate with many more points and priors, get 3 months for the same charge. He had a Public Defender. Save your money or don’t spend it here is my best advice.

I had the privilege of working with Denitsa Kolev from Escobar Law Group for my DUI case, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Ms. Kolev's expertise and energetic approach resulted in the dismissal of my DUI charges and the clearing of all associated tickets. Escobar Law Group is truly the best in the Tampa Bay area. Highly recommended!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
