Eric S. Eber, a Florida native, is an associate attorney in the firm’s Civil Litigation department and currently focuses his practice in many areas of litigation, from landlord tenant disputes, foreclosures and real estate matters to collections actions, construction and probate law.
Prior to joining Block & Scarpa, Eric was an Assistant State's Attorney in Clearwater, Florida for the Sixth Judicial Circuit. During his three years of service at the Pinellas County State Attorney, Eric tried approximately 20 criminal cases to verdict and prosecuted hundreds to thousands of cases, ranging from local ordinance violations to punishable-by-life felony crimes. From 2019 to 2020, Eric acted as the Lead Trial Attorney for Domestic Crimes in Pinellas County, as well as the assigned prosecutor for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (“FWC”), where he assisted law enforcement in the protection of Florida’s fisheries and natural ecosystems.
A Bucknell University alum, Eric majored in Philosophy and minored in English Literature. He then attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, where he sat as President of the Investment & Finance Law Association and earned his Juris Doctor in 2018. Outside of the courtroom, you will likely find him boating and fishing the Indian River or the wide range of Florida rivers, creeks, canals and oceans.
