I contacted this firm in July 2024 for legal assistance and was seen by Xiomara León, who did not clarify that she was a paralegal. I signed a representation agreement believing I was working with an attorney. I submitted all the necessary documents for my USCIS case and my children's in August, but they weren’t filed until late October. Communication was very poor throughout—I rarely received updates, calls were not returned, and I had to visit the office in person multiple times to get information. USCIS later informed me that a required document was missing, even though I had submitted all three background checks. This resulted in a six-month delay due to late and incomplete filing. I later learned Xiomara was not a licensed attorney, and I never had contact with a real attorney during the process. I reached out to the lead attorney and office manager by email and certified mail, but received no response. Due to these issues, I decided to change representation. It was a disappointing experience overall.

I filed my green card with this office, George himself is a good man, but most his staff are rude and mean. I moved and called the office fire change of adress, I was told to email the change and new adress and I did immediately. My green card didn't came at the expected time and I had family emergency travel overseas, I called the USCIS to enquire on the process of my green card to my surprise they said the green card had been sent long time ago. I asked them the address they sent it just to know that it wad sent to wrong adress. I called Lee law office with this shocking information I was told to meet with attorney Peter Tadeo downtown ATL in the immigration to pass and get my passport stamped for travel. No one showed up to get me thru the process. So I got it on my own got the passport stamped, applied for another green card with I have now. I owed the office 300 but the attorney told me to count the account closed since I have gone thru all that. I went to this same office today to get prepared for my naturalization but they turned me back without getting me ready for my next interview in the next one day. I have referred 2 clients also, this is the end of it. They dont want to own my loss or share with me all those frustrations. What they want is money but not the satisfaction of the client. I don't write reviews, this my first one in my life. I had paperwork too too file another immigration case with them but it will never happen here. Wish you well Attorneys at Lee & Pernado Pamela and associates.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
