Her keen negotiation abilities and proven courtroom skills ensure clients receive strategic, results-driven representation. Ms. Cooper is known for making complex legal matters understandable, empowering clients to move forward through difficult family transitions with clarity and confidence.
Her entrepreneurial background and corporate law experience provide a distinct advantage, particularly in high-asset divorces and cases involving business interests. Since 2024, she has advised C-suite executives on contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, technology licensing, and corporate governance across multiple for-profit and nonprofit organizations. This corporate acumen strengthens her ability to serve family law clients with professional practices or sophisticated financial portfolios.
Earlier in her career (1992–2008), Ms. Cooper represented clients across diverse practice areas including complex business litigation, employment law, criminal defense, and medical malpractice in Atlanta and New Orleans. She edited a comprehensive 700-page Sourcebook on labor and employment law and directed business development for the intellectual property division of an AmLaw 100 firm. Her published work has appeared in Business to Business, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Atlanta Magazine, and other publications.
Ms. Cooper earned her J.D. from Tulane Law School in 1992, where she served as Managing Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Review and externed for Judge Steven R. Plotkin. A former officer of the Federal Bar Association in Atlanta, she remains active in the Georgia Bar Association’s Family Law Section.
Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Cooper has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service, chairing high-profile fundraisers including the Atlanta Opera Ball, serving as PR Chair for the Atlanta Junior League, and contributing as a board member for literacy and media organizations.

Consulted Attorney 2026I met with Cathy regarding a complex child custody issue originating out of state. She agreed to "advise" for a fee. I paid around 2200 dollars for consult and coaching. She came back with "Call the Florida Bar for attorney options". During initial consult she spoke of her son's legal troubles which I did not find helpful and rather expensive. Maybe others in the firm are more helpful. This person was a complete waste of my time and money.
