    Recommends this Attorney
I recently contacted Mr Peacock about my issue in Walton County, Ga. Not only was Mr Peacock the kindest and most polite attorney I have ever spoken to, he was also the most precise when it came to answering my questions to a level where I could truly understand my situation. I felt a very genuine concern for my well-being and that is important when dealing with family matters. Most attorneys I have dealt with in the past seemed to have better things to do than actually HELP someone. He was patient, professional and super-knowledgeable. My Father's death was the worst experience I have ever been through and I am thankful for the sincere action that Michael Ryan Peacock has taken for me. I will highly recommend him to anyone in the Atlanta area and beyond.

I received a call from Mr. Peacock one late evening pertaining to an attorney malpractice case. The conversation went pretty well so he asked me to submit all the necessary paperwork supporting my claim and attach all the submitted docs to a portal he provided for me to retrieve this information. I sent all the requested docs and I've yet to receive one returned phone call or reply to this day. I wouldn't recommend this attorney to anyone.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
