These are hard working honest lawyers. They care about their clients and go the extra mile for the people they choose to represent. I am not sure you could find a better group of smart, effective, and caring people. Strongly recommend

When I first came to this firm, I was going through one of the hardest times in my life and everything felt like it was falling apart. Robert and Shawna were supportive, responsive, and genuinely human throughout the process. They made a stressful legal situation feel much more manageable, always took the time to answer my questions, and made me feel heard every step of the way. It can be hard to trust anyone with legal matters, but I always felt like I was in good hands. They know how to advocate for their clients and push when needed. I would absolutely trust this firm again in the future.

Matt is a great listener. He gives you time to explain your situation, and then provides valuable feedback about whether it is a case worth pursuing. Even though he was not interested in my case, he talked to me on the phone for over thirty minutes and gave me some options on how I might could proceed.

Matthew Stoddard is very RUDE I havent ever came across a lawyer so dis-tasteful.. I found his information via Dekalb Bar, when I consulted with Matthew he thought my case was more recent than stated .. his tone of voice was pleasant at first but when i further explained my situation & he decided he didnt want to take my case, but wanted to give me "direction" or "advice" on what to do, he became verbally rude, he cut me off when I asked questions, I stated I was a student at the time of the situation which made insinuate & say to me I didnt have funds to pay him to take my case if he decided too .. consultation went from sugar to sh*t fast .. most unbelievable rudest consultation with a lawyer ever !!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
