I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Kevin Hicks. I am in the middle of a very high-conflict custody battle, and from the moment Kevin took my case, he was extremely strategic in his approach and thought several steps ahead. He is knowledgeable, incredibly smart, and always made sure I understood what was happening throughout the process. What stood out most is how much Kevin truly cares. He doesn’t just handle cases—he invests in them and in the people he represents. When we went to court, his preparation and skill showed his true value. I had a previous attorney who did not work my case properly and later left the firm, which created a lot of setbacks. Kevin stepped in, turned things around, and gave me confidence that my case was finally being handled the right way. On top of that, his staff is fantastic—responsive, supportive, and always willing to help. Kevin Hicks is not only an outstanding attorney, but also someone you can genuinely trust to fight for you. Don't hesitate to hire this attorney !

This is the most crooked attorney/ man there is. I watched him mishandle someone case and fabricated a bunch of lies against a person. I’ve also worked with him before and he does the most underhanded, dishonest, shady things to try to win cases which will catch up to him. DO NOT retain this bald headed SOB. That bald head of his is way too shiny to be trusted. He is known in the city of Macon to be crooked. Most people I’ve met or dealt with have all said the same exact thing about this guy. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is sleeping with people down at the courts just to have his way. Paralegal unprofessional!!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
