Hired Law firm 2019He seems overloaded with cases and always too busy to make progress at the rate the court expects. He promises a lower rate for all work done by his legal assistant yet bills 100% at his higher hourly rate. He charges for one hour to read a 2 page document and talk it over with said assistant that states the court wants to set trial since no progress has been made on the case. I had to fire him then completed my case pro se within 2 weeks after waiting 2 months for any progress on one document with Andy. He promises a quick and painless process then drags it out and adds unrequested stipulation reviews to jack up the bill. He charged twice for the initial appt. I had to remind him and prove with a receipt that I had paid it before he adjusted the bill.

Hired Law firm 2025was referred to this attorney and I am advising anyone IN MY OPINION looking for an ETHICAL AND HONEST attorney BEWARE! I'm a father who is struggling to get custody of my daughter and this unethical man( if you want to call him a REAL man) told me $7500 for a retainer fee. He then had me sign an agreement where my funds are non refundable. From this point forward he asked that money be paid in cash or Zelle/Venmo so that he doesn't have to pay taxes on it.. I thought nothing of it at the time but I struggled to pay him $5k and because I had delays in getting him the other $2500 he wanted to no longer represent me. He said he would keep the $5k and not return it because he has already done work on the case but I have numerous text messages where he says he can't start work until he receives the full $7500..?? I then asked for a statement showing the work he "said" he has done but to he never sent anything because IN MY OPINION obviously he NEVER did any kind of work on my case. I have filed a complaint with the State of Georgia Bar and several other organizations that hold attorneys accountable along with proof so IN MY OPINION everyone can see what kind of unethical and dishonest individual he is. And he will respond to my review saying he gave me multiple attempts to pay the money but directly to his personal checking account?? IN MY OPINION What kind of honest attorney does that..??Most attorneys hold clients retainers in a trust account.. I have now hired another attorney to get my money back and after sending a demand letter BJ the attorney sent the first and ONLY invoice along with 1/3 of the retainer he said he was keeping? IN MY OPINION only a guilty person would refund money if he knows he’s in the wrong. He claims work was done but at NO time during the time he was holding my $5k did he ever send an invoice showing what my money was being spent on. If you are looking for an honest and ethical attorney to represent you after my experience AVOID THIS ATTORNEY AND HIS FIRM!

Hired Law firm 2016-2019DO NOT RECOMMEND. At my initial consultation, I was told several things that after signing a contract with an expensive, NON REFUNDABLE retainer, turned out to be completely false. If you'd like an attorney that is uncommunicative to the point of utter uselessness, feel free to use this firm. So many aspects of my case were not discussed with me prior to executing and I am extremely dissatisfied with the results. Do not waste your time or money.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
