Hired Law firm 2020useless, but if you want additional problems, unwanted stress and got money to burn, call them. I am sure they will also cheat you. Find another firm.

Hired Law firm 2019I was pulled in by this firms Marketing Strategy at a very painful and vulnerable time. My #1 priority was to get guardianship for my Special Needs Sister. My experience with this firm was beyond horrific. They required a $3000 initial retainer fee which the assigned attorney blew thru in 15 days. By the time I received my first billing they had consumed the retainer and charged me an additional $907. This firm appointed me an attorney who was incompetent and could not manage to accomplish the guardianship petition. She never provided Strategy and Goals as promised in their Contract, but charged me thousands for hours of claimed research, but never told me what she researched. I disputed the billing and after refusing their refund offer they sent me an additional bill for $4169.14 which included an accrued interest charge for a bill that I knew nothing about. This attorney did not communicate, did not follow thru on any task she said she would except for a letter to Opposing Counsel. My total billing for that letter is $8142. The attorney ultimately dismissed me and abandoned the case and told me to write a letter to the Probate Judge. Before using this firm, please look for reviews. I did this too late and now have to waste more time to defend myself against them and their collection efforts. I am contacting the State Bar and any other agency who can help me expose them. Good news...I hired a competent attorney and now have full Guardianship over my sister.

Hired Law firm 2018Good communication and timely responses. I do appreciate that I can rely on staff to reply to me quickly. Especially since there’s always questions that I have.

Hired Law firm 2016-2018After agreeing to retain the firm after our relative's death, our uncontested, non-arbitrated case is still not resolved, since nearly every single instrument filed by the firm on our behalf has been rejected by the court through errors made by the firm and no others.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
