Ms. Romans was very attentive in the beginning. She told me what could be done and gave me an estimated time line. She even met with 2 other individuals who were 'witnesses' before I paid a retainer. Then I paid the $2000 retainer. Nothing happened. For weeks, nothing happened. I asked repeatedly for an updated time line but none was given. After almost 3 months, I terminated her and asked for an itemized bill and refund. I received a $500 refund with a note saying it is "her policy" to keep the retainer. So she kept $1500 simply because I believed she would take the action she suggested. I would understand paying for the consultation visits. But $1500 simply because I trusted her to take action? I think she saw a desperate, elderly woman - an easy target.

Ms. Skidmore, With multiple meetings with you and witnesses plus the preparation in your case, your retainer was earned in full. The meetings and the preparation for your documents took well over four hours of time. The attorney fee agreement was provided in advanced that explains the policy regarding retainers. You were also notified your case was a novel concept and would take more time due to its unique nature. I represent individuals of all ages. All paperwork was prepared in your case and you declined to proceed after reviewing the paperwork. Best of luck with your situation. Amber Romans

She is a great attorney. She worked a complex case where a judge made a unconstitutional decision and Amber took it to court and won. We think highly of her and would recommend her to anyone. She does an outstanding job.
