Ms. Brewington was fantastic. I had gotten a ticket back in September coming from NC on our way to our family vacation to Disney. When I got home I hit the ground running trying to find a lawyer, so I wouldn’t have to go back down to GA to appear in court. I called SEVERAL places, and most of them were over priced, and didn’t seem interested. When I spoke with Ms. Brewington she seemed very genuine, and laid everything out for me about her fees, and the steps for court. I was a little worried because we were so far away, and trying to send money VIA snail mail, but everything worked out and she got my ticket reduced, I didn’t have to appear in court! I appreciate all her help, and if the need comes again (which I hope not) I would DEFINITELY use her again.

My college daughter was cited for hitting a bicyclist. I believed the bicyclist to be at fault because she was not following the rules of the road. Ms. Brewington knew exactly what to do in order to navigate the court systems. She was prompt in answering emails and explaining the next steps. She attended all court proceedings and prepared my daughter for her court date. In the end charges were dismissed and Ms.Brewington finalized the paperwork for the dismissal. She is an excellent attorney.

Mrs. Katie was AMAZING. She represented me during a traffic citation and I am very happy with my decision to hire her as my lawyer. The outcome was great and very satisfying. Her communication from Day 1 was great. I hope I never need another lawyer, but if I do I will definitely call her for representation.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
