Mr. David I. Schachter, Esq. won my case and truly changed my life. I can can think of no better way to thank him than to write about what he did for me and my family so that others know who to turn to for the best possible results. I was facing a situation of paying lifetime alimony and had already paid it for many years with no hope for relief. We had been to court many times over the years and I had all but lost hope that I would ever obtain relief. The attorney representing my ex was the most atrocious human being. After decades of this never-ending alimony obligation having such a negative an impact on me that it literally almost destroyed my ability to function David used his brilliant mind, his tremendous legal and courtroom expertise and ability (I have had many attorneys over the years and he was by far the best), and he utilized his skill and ingenuity to literally turn everything my ex said and had done against her. In doing so, David exposed my ex-wife and her attorney for the liars and frauds that they are. Quite simply- he was brilliant. Although the process took quite some time due to courts and judges, the wait paid off! David Schachter freed me from this lifetime alimony obligation which had no end in sight. Over the years this situation had caused me to contemplate dark places and the only way I ever saw that I could ever be free was if I no longer was alive. Thanks to David I don't have to think that way any longer. I will never forget the day that Mr. Schachter called me on the phone to let me know the judge's ruling: David had accomplished the seemingly impossible and ended my lifetime alimony obligation. There are only 2 other events that I can recall in my life where I can so vividly remember where I was and what was said - the day I was accepted to medical school and an unforgettable historical event. Thank you so much David for everything you have done for me and my family. Bless you and the work that you do.

    Hired Attorney 2020-2021

David Schachter is the best family law and child custody attorney around these parts. I would even say he’s the best attorney a client could hire in Georgia. I have had many prior lawyers over the years between my divorce and modification cases, and I can honestly say that Mr. Schachter is the best lawyer I’ve ever hired. He is highly respected and came highly recommended to me by a court employee who had seen him in action in past court proceedings and was herself super impressed. Mr. Schachter actually practices about 2 hours away from the county where my case was heard, but our Judge was familiar with him and was also impressed from past cases David had handled in front of him. In the end I am a father who thanks to Mr. Schachter has primary custody of my children. That’s unusual in this part of Georgia. David’s a great strategist and he makes all the difference in a case. He is the type of warrior you want on your side in the courtroom. He’s not intimidated and he doesn’t back down. He’s also very clever at getting the other side to admit things when they try to lie, which is actually something Mr. Schachter got my ex caught up on and exposed her in the first 2 minutes of the trial. Take it from me because I know from past experience what happens when you hire the wrong lawyer. While Mr. Schachter is the most expensive lawyer I’ve ever hired, I can confidently say that you get what you pay for, and he was worth every extra dollar I paid to hire him. David is the best lawyer at what he does in South Georgia, and the type of lawyer who makes all the difference in a case. Best decision I ever made since getting divorced hands-down.
