Overview
Originally born in Peru, South America, Catherine grew up in Athens, Georgia. Catherine graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. She earned her law degree from John Marshall Law School and studied International Family Law and Environment Law as part of a summer abroad program at the University of Florence, Italy.
She began her legal career as a solo practitioner and subsequently worked as an Enforcement Attorney at the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner. In 2015, Catherine joined the law firm known at the time as Wiggins Norris Coffey, PA (now known as Wiggins Casto Barrow, PA). Catherine concentrates her practice solely in the area of family law. Catherine also serves as a Guardian ad Litem appointed by the Superior and Juvenile courts in Athens and in the surrounding areas.
Catherine is a member of the Georgia Bar Family Law Section. She is on the board of the Western Circuit Bar Association and is Chair of the Western Circuit Bar Association Family Law Section. She is also former president and current member of the Northern Judicial Bar Association. Catherine is admitted to practice before all state trial and appellate courts in Georgia.
In her spare time, Catherine enjoys the outdoors and exercising. She loves taking time to get away on a beach excursion. She is passionate about her community and often volunteers at the legal “pop-up” clinic through the Western Circuit Access to Justice Program which provides legal services to members of our community. Catherine also serves on the board at the Oconee Rotary Club. Catherine is married to Tom Casto who owns a landscaping business and they have one child and 2 dogs.
