    Recommends this Law firm
This is my personal letter of recommendation for Naomi Hirayasu, Attorney at Law. Naomi recently helped me and my family regarding a child custody matter. Although Naomi did produce the absolute best results that we had hoped for, it is her professionalism and exceptional customer service that I would like to commend. Whenever a minor is involved, it is more often than not a difficult and testing time for everyone. We were very fortunate to have worked with Naomi as she made this smoother and easier process than we could have hope for. She was patient and supportive, and walked us through every step of the process. She took the time to contact us just to keep us in the loop, and make sure that we were comfortable with the case being presented. I can't thank her enough for her genuine care and concern for me and my family. Naomi's dedication and commitment to me and my family was unquestionable, and her expertise and knowledge is evident i the result of our case. I would most definitely recommend Naomi to everyone I know that could benefit from her services.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
