Jennifer was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, articulate, and calm. She clearly knew what she was doing and was a professional in every aspect. Her communication was excellent and timely, which always helps when you’re experiencing a stressful situation like litigation. She was candid and honest in her assessment of the case and probable outcomes, and I was pleased with the result that she was able to achieve. Thank you!

Jennifer always made sure I felt safe. She advised me on the law and what I could expect in the many scenarios we encountered. With her expertise, the divorce was finalized.

Jennifer represented me after a long drawn out divorce from another state spanning over several years. She was able help close the case and also had no problem taking on a complicated out of state custody issue that other top local attorneys would not touch. She is very upfront and honest about what could and could not happen. She made sure I was emotionally okay throughout the process and I felt safe in the courtroom and while facing other lawyers. She is easy to communicate with and it was evident she knew the law and the community well. She made a very dehumanizing and traumatic experience end with me feeling satisfied and content. I would highly recommend.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
