Hired Attorney 2023-2034“Gloria Block is evil”. That is an exact quote from a family attorney my parents met with out of anxiety caused by what Gloria Block was putting myself and my daughter through. I refused to pay Gloria based on the poor job she did and a ridiculous recommendation she made to the court on behalf of my ex wife, without doing her due diligence, the motion filed following Gloria Blocks potentially dangerous and thoughtless recommendation was dismissed by the court. Once Gloria filed a suit against me for the $5,000 she claimed I owed her despite having only 10 email exchanges and 3 phone conversations in total while also paying a $5,000 retainer and an $1800 bill I did pay, my lawyer and I subpoenaed Gloria, my ex wife, and my ex wife’s lawyers emails to and from Gloria. There was clear and present collusion going on between my ex wife, my ex wife’s lawyer and Gloria Block. Gloria Block refused to recuse herself several times. However, after we received the subpoena emails my lawyer gave Gloria Block one final chance to recuse herself before we filed to have Gloria Block removed as the parenting coordinator. Gloria Block then agreed to recuse herself and on her way out tried in a desperate attempt blamed me for recusing herself. Including hurling false accusations at me and lying in regards to the best interest of my daughter. Gloria joined by her partner in court was dismissed as the parenting coordinator by the judge despite my ex wife’s motion of opposition to Gloria Blocks recusal. My only wish is that she refused to recuse herself so I could take her to court, then sue her, then end her career and give every struggling family in Chicago a break from this disgusting monster being involved in their child’s life. Stay away from Gloria Block. She has no soul and is incredibly stupid and ignorant. Gloria Block does NOT have your child’s best interest at heart. Stay away. Refuse to work with her. You will thank me. If you take the time to read these reviews you will see that Gloria responds to all reviews good or bad almost immediately, however she has not responded to mine because everything I have said on this review is true and Gloria Block is concerned I will sue her. Which I am considering. But this time it will not be a divorce lawyer Gloria and yes you should be concerned.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
