Attorney Information

Overview

Edward R. Moor is a Chicago trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience preparing and trying jury trials of product liability, personal injury, civil rights, class action, criminal defense, business fraud, and complex litigation suits. He tried and won his first 5 day jury trial as a pro se criminal defendant in 1985 after he was arrested for protesting the 1984 presidential election. The judge wrote a letter recommending Ed to law school. He attended the Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington where he graduated cum laude while working as a mechanic to put himself through law school.

Ed is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Indiana, before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, and before the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, the Central District of Illinois, the Southern District of Illinois, the Northern District of Indiana, the Southern District of Indiana, and the U.S. District Court of Colorado. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He was awarded an “AV Preeminent” peer-reviewed rating from Martindale Hubbell, which is among the highest recognitions an attorney can receive for ethical standards and legal ability. He has been recognized as an Illinois “Super Lawyer,” has been selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer since 2012, made the National Law Journal 2013 Top Lawyers list, and has been named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Organization.

Edward Moor started his own law firm in 2013. He now represents individuals who have been injured by defective products, professional malpractice, and other forms of negligence. Additionally, he works with false claims ‘whistleblowers,’ people who have been wrongfully accused of crimes, and individuals whose civil rights have been violated by the police or an employer. He accepts referrals and co-counsel cases.

Ed is married, has a daughter, enjoys racing motorcycles and volunteering in the Kairos Prison Ministry in Illinois.
