Overview
The opportunity for a new life in the United States brings hope and thoughts of a better tomorrow for many immigrants. But that joyful feeling can quickly be lost when they encounter delays, confusion, and frustration while working with U.S. immigration officials to gain lawful entry or residence. Attorney Julia Sverdloff has seen first-hand how difficult these struggles are, and she also knows how immigration can positively transform lives. It has motivated her to devote her legal career solely to immigration law and resolving tough legal challenges for clients throughout the greater Chicagoland region, all 50 states, and all across the globe.
As the founder and owner of Sverdloff Law Group, Ms. Sverdloff provides knowledgeable legal counsel and continued support to those seeking immigrant and non-immigrant visas, green cards, and relief from removal proceedings, among other immigration-related issues. An immigrant herself, Ms. Sverdloff has a unique ability to understand the obstacles many families face when seeking a better life in the United States. This drives her to deliver exceptional advocacy throughout every step of the legal process and fiercely protect her clients' rights and best interests. Deeply respectful of her client’s time and resources, Ms. Sverdloff works to find the most efficient and cost-effective solution for each immigration issue, while still achieving favorable outcomes in cases that other attorneys labeled as hopeless. Her practice is global and serves all 50 states.
Ms. Sverdloff has been consistently honored by both her peers and her clients for exceptional professionalism, dedication, and legal know-how. She has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyer® as a “Rising Star” in immigration every year since 2013, a designation only given to the top 2 ½ percent of attorneys selected.
Her commitment to service and prompt, reliable communication with clients has helped her earn a 10 out of 10 client rating on Avvo, as well as the site's Clients' Choice and Top Contributor awards.
Ms. Sverdloff graduated from St. John's University in 2003 and earned her master's in international relations in 2004 from C.W. Post University. She went on to attend the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor in 2007. She is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.
