Firm Information
Overview
The first law firm in the Chicagoland area to focus on women's and mothers' rights, the Women’s Divorce & Family Law Group by Haid and Teich LLP is highly attuned to the unique needs and challenges confronting women going through the process of divorce.
With three offices - in Chicago's downtown loop, Lake Forest and Lisle, Illinois - we strive to provide pragmatic and creative solutions to the often complicated issues facing those undergoing a divorce, while remaining mindful of the stresses this process can impose on your entire family.
A common misconception exists that women have an "advantage" in divorce. This just isn't the case under today's laws. Our team of attorneys brings 25 years of combined experience to their common endeavor to be strong advocates for women and mothers during a critical transition.
Our law firm represents both women and men in divorce, child custody and visitation, modifications and enforcement, prenuptial agreements and nontraditional family law matters. In addition, we offer a unique service called pre-divorce planning to help clients anticipate what will occur if a divorce happens and take steps to insulate them and protect their interests.
We are fair, aggressive when necessary, and most of all, honest and straightforward with all our clients about the entire process.
Attorneys and managing partners Joshua Haid and James Teich have both made frequent appearances in the media to discuss divorce and custody issues. Haid obtained his J.D. from Georgetown University. Teich graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law with honors in 2000. Both are members of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.
Accessible by Chicago's trains and buses, evening and weekend appointments are available by arrangement. We speak Russian and Spanish. Call 312-445-8830 to arrange a free consultation.

Hired Law firm 2017-2020I can't say enough good things about Jamie Teich, Madelyn King and the Womens Famiy Law group. They saw me, my two sons and their step mother through some very difficult litigation with the boys' (emotionally abusive, wealthy and very well represented) birth mother. It was ultimately their efforts that led to an over turning by the court, based on a very thorough 604B Evaluation, of an earlier "recommendation" by the thoroughly corrupt and negligent court appointed "Child's Attorney," allowing my eldest son to move in with me, and attend the academically superior high school of his choice. Sadly, unlike Jamie and the team, that attorney, supposedly the advocate for my sons (who were both asking only for more time, 50/50, with Dad) had spent all of 15 minutes, twice, with them... vs many (billable) hours engaged with opposing counsel (3x the engagement with mine). Haid & Teich heard me out, boiled it down to the key legal issues and were MORE than patient & fair with my fees and billing arrangements. Their Group name may be "Womens Family Law" but I would wholeheartedly recommend them for any Dad struggling to maintain their parental role and rights, and/or advocate for their kids, given the legal issues of today's frankly (and possibly fairly) Mom-canted Divorce Laws and legal system.
