Overview

J. Kevin Hanzel joined Cowlin, Naughton, Curran Cuda & Hanzel as an associate in 2018 and was promoted to partner in 2021. He primarily concentrates in the areas of civil and criminal litigation, municipal and local government law, and does some real estate.

Kevin represents clients in all aspects of litigation, including criminal prosecution and defense, breach of contract, small claims, employment discrimination, insurance disputes and an array of other civil cases. He counsels the firm’s municipal and local government clients with legal issues including matters of regulatory compliance, administrative review, demolition cases and ordinance issues and manages a heavy caseload prosecuting DUI, traffic, and traffic related offenses. Among his many responsibilities are advising numerous private clients, including corporations, for representation during trials, hearings, negotiations, and contested litigation.

Kevin is again excited to call McHenry County his home after growing up and spending his entire childhood in the surrounding area and now residing in Crystal Lake.
