Verified ClientHired Law firm 2018-2020The Immigration Process is daunting and can be one of the most stressful times in a couple’s or family’s life. Alen made my husband and I’s experience seamless. From preparing and organizing all of our documents, to easing our minds multiple times over the course of our immigration process, Alen was there to support us. Along with his work ethic and accessibility, he is incredibly knowledgeable and humble in his practice. The immigration process needs patience and precision. Alen’s attention to detail is impeccable and not once did he make us feel that the process was too much to handle. He is honest, which was wonderful for a couple like ourselves who needed straight forward answers. His personality lends a friendliness that you may not easily find in another lawyer. We would highly recommend his services to anyone. We really appreciate all he has done for us and could not ask for a better person to be by our side throughout this process.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2018-2019This is my Google review of Takhsh Law, P.C., of Evanston, Illinois The executive summary of my review is: YES- hire this law firm! Alen Takhsh helped my wife become a U.S. citizen. I am from a family of immigrants- my parents and wife are immigrants, as are most of my cousins, uncles, and aunts. My whole life, I’ve dealt with immigration attorneys, U.S. immigration laws, and the numerous filings, documentation requests, and travels to law offices and U.S. Government immigration offices. Takhsh Law is simply the finest, most comprehensive immigration law practice I have ever encountered. During our initial meeting, Mr. Takhsh reviewed my wife’s travel documents, previous application, W-2 forms, address listings, tax returns, educational certificates and board certifications. He compiled a timeline, asked detailed questions to determine if my wife was in fact eligible to apply for citizenship, completed all our application forms, sent them electronically to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and emailed us copies- all before we left his office. He gave us websites to study and practice for the citizenship test, a timeline on when we would hear from immigration for our next appointment, and even role played so we had an idea of what they would ask my wife. Over the next few months, Mr. Takhsh would check in with us just to say hello and see if there were any changes to our situation. He was meticulous and thorough- anticipating each and every question that might be asked, and preparing the answer. My wife’s appointment date with immigration was right when Mr. Takhsh said it would be- just 6 months after the application was submitted. Mr. Takhsh arrived at the interview before my wife did, accompanied her to the actual interview, and texted me that my wife had passed! Takhsh Law- no fake promises, no bending the truth, no upcharges or mystery fees- just straight forward, honest, efficient, effective legal representation and advocacy. Regardless of your nationality, you want someone who understands ever-changing U.S. immigration law. Takhsh Law is that firm.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
