Overview
Elizabeth Chavez is a nationally recognized champion of justice, dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals in the realms of employment law, workers’ compensation, consumer class actions, and complex civil litigation. With an unwavering commitment to advocating for those who have been wronged, Elizabeth has rapidly risen to prominence in the legal community since graduating from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2015.
A Passion for Justice
Elizabeth is more than just an attorney; she is a passionate advocate for fairness and equality. Her journey in the legal field began with a fierce determination to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals who have faced injustices in the workplace and marketplace. Over the years, her dedication has earned her a reputation as a relentless fighter for justice.
Education and Expertise
After earning her law degree from Loyola Chicago, Elizabeth immersed herself in the complexities of employment law, workers’ compensation, data breach/privacy and consumer class actions. Her education laid a strong foundation for mastering these areas, and she continues to expand her knowledge to stay ahead of legal developments.
A significant portion of Elizabeth’s practice is dedicated to protecting workers’ rights. She has notable experience prosecuting claims before administrative agencies and in both state and federal courts. In addition to employment and workers’ compensation matters, Elizabeth represents plaintiffs in complex civil litigation ranging from business disputes to antitrust, consumer fraud, and personal injury cases. She has substantial experience litigating multi-district litigation (“MDL”) on behalf of individuals who have been harmed or injured.
She routinely speaks to other attorneys regarding complex topics in Employment Law, Class Actions and beyond. In 2025, Elizabeth was appointed by a Federal Judge to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in a major data breach litigation pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, reflecting her growing leadership in high-stakes, nationwide class actions.
National Recognition
Elizabeth’s exceptional talent and dedication have earned her national recognition for her work in employment law, workers’ compensation, consumer class actions, and MDLs. Her innovative legal strategies, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to her clients have led to numerous victories, helping shape the legal landscape.
Elizabeth has been recognized as a SuperLawyers “Rising Star” from 2019 through 2026—an honor bestowed on only 2.5% of attorneys in Illinois. In September 2020, she was selected as a “Civil Plaintiff—Top 40 under 40” Trial Attorney by the National Trial Lawyers and has maintained that distinction through 2026. She has also been named an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers℠. In 2023, Elizabeth was recognized as Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” and was reselected in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Client-Centric Approach
At the heart of Elizabeth’s practice is her client-centric philosophy. She understands that her clients are often facing challenging and emotionally charged circumstances. With empathy and compassion, she guides them through the legal process, ensuring they remain informed, supported, and empowered at every step. Elizabeth prides herself on transforming her clients’ concerns into meaningful legal solutions and pursuing justice on their behalf.
Advocacy Beyond the Courtroom
Elizabeth is not only a formidable presence in the courtroom but also an advocate for positive change in her community and beyond. She is actively involved in organizations and initiatives dedicated to advancing social justice and equality. Her commitment to making an impact extends well beyond her legal practice.
Elizabeth currently serves on Public Justice’s Board of Directors, where she contributes to several subcommittees. Elizabeth is a member of AAJ, Public Justice, the Chicago Bar Association (CBA), the Federal Bar Association (FBA), the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the National Trial Lawyers (NTL), and the American Bar Association (ABA).
She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.
How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
