Hired Attorney 2023-2025She does not have the credentials or ability to work with special needs children as she claims. There is not background, to my knowledge, where she is capable of claiming she is a specialist. She does not do an investigation, she sides with the high conflict parent in order to increase her bill. She is a scam artist in my opinion.

Hired Attorney 2023-2025Jennifer wheeler- woods is the absolute worst. She does not even deserve the half star rating as she does not investigate. She does not care about the best interest of the children. All she cares about is racking up the bill and taking the side of the high conflict parent. She rips kids away from stable environments and places them with their abusers. She has no training in autism related services and is a fraud. Do no hire her.

Hired Attorney 2023-2024WARNING! Absolutely horrible. Fight as hard as you can to get this woman off your case! Does not do her job, refuses to do an investigation. It’s all a money making scheme between her and her “therapist” buddies. Racks up the bill and does nothing to actually represent the children’s best interest. Gave an abuser with DCFS cases (yes- multiple cases) who abandoned the kids custody from the stay at home mom.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
